Paying with your Credit Card

Building
Insight Technologies Inc.
accepts payment for energy audits by Visa or MasterCard.
Pre-approval is obtained from
the credit card company for the entire cost of the energy audit
at time of booking.
Sales tax
Sales tax for the energy audit is charged according to
laws in the jurisdiction the house is located.
Proof of payment
Customers are sent an email confirming charges against
their credit card. At the end of the visit to your home,
your advisor will provide you with a payment receipt.
Rescheduling
Appointments can be rescheduled up to 48 hours before
the scheduled appointment time without penalty.
To reschedule your appoint you must speak with a Building
Insight customer service representative at
1-877-732-9888.
If a reschedule is needed within 48 hours, a reschedule fee
of $75 will be charged to the customer’s credit card.
Cancellation fee
If the appointment is cancelled within 48 hours of
the scheduled appointment there is no refund of the fee paid.
The fee is forfeited. To cancel your appointment you must
speak with a Building Insight customer service representative
48 hours before your scheduled appointment at
1-877-732-9888
to receive a cancellation number. The full balance is refunded.
No-show fee
If the advisor arrives and nobody is at home, the advisor
will leave their business card at the door and include their
visit time. No refund is provided to customers who do not show
at their scheduled appointment time.
State of home for energy audit
If the advisor arrives to find the house is not in a state
where an energy audit can be performed, no refund will be provided
to the homeowner. Please read

to allow an energy audit to proceed.
Renovation activities underway that have compromised the integrity
of the home’s envelope immediately disqualify the home.
Renovation activities that disassemble or remove heating,
ventilating and air conditioning equipment immediately disqualify
the home.

Emergency heating policy
In some cases, furnaces, boilers or domestic hot water
equipment cannot be repaired or are deemed unsafe (red-tagged),
and so must be replaced for health and safety reasons as soon
as possible. Between October 15, 2011, and March 30, 2012,
homeowners can purchase and install eligible equipment before
obtaining a pre-retrofit evaluation only if they meet the
criteria and they carefully follow
NRCan’s
instructions on their
Emergency Heating Policy*.

Processing of refunds
Any refunds due to customers are applied as a one time
credit to the same card used for booking the evaluation.
An email is sent to the customer confirming the refund.
Dispute resolution
If a customer has a reason to dispute our refund policy,
please contact customer service, and explain the circumstances.
Advisor contact
Customers are not allowed to reschedule or cancel their
scheduled appointment time by contacting their advisor.

Building Insight is open from 6 am to 8 pm PST Monday
through Friday, Saturday from 6 am to 4 pm PST, and Sunday

Limitation of liability
In no event shall Building Insight Technologies Inc. be liable for
incidental, consequential, indirect, special damages or other damages
whether in contract, tort or any other legal theory, including without
limitation, (i) loss of use, (ii) failure to realize expected
savings, federal grants or for other economic loss; even if
Building Insight Technologies Inc. shall have been advised of the
possibility of such potential loss or damage.
The liability of
Building Insight Technologies Inc. for direct damages relating
to any ecoENERGY audit shall be limited to the actual
price paid for such ecoENERGY audit. The foregoing limitations
and exclusions apply to the extent permitted by law.
